What is a quilting clapper used for?

A clapper is a rectangular block of wood that you "clap" and then lay on top of a seam after pressing to get a crisp and flat seam. So, if you like to have flat seams when you sew (I know I do) then this humble tool can help you! From simple straight seams to the bulky centre often created by pinwheels, this tool is essential for any quilter.

Once you have it, you will wonder how you ever pressed without it!
Our quilt clapper is locally made and not imported, this supports the homegrown artist industry and better yet, is easier on the pocket.

Type of Wood:

Yugoslavian Beech Wood. This wood is dense and heavy, making it safe to use with steam and bulky fabrics.

Size:

24cm x 5cm
